Q: For an Auto Title Loan, what condition does the vehicle have to be in?

A: The vehicle should be well-kept, in average to excellent condition.

Q: What if I have a lien on my vehicle?

A: All liens must be released from the title prior to PLS issuing the loan. The reason for this is that PLS does not know how much interest the current lien holder (or holders) may have in the vehicle. Once all liens are released, PLS Loan Store would then be able to process the loan application pending an inspection of the vehicle.

Q: Do I have to claim my unemployment wages on my tax return?

Q: Can I claim my vehicle mileage on my income tax return?

A: Yes, you can if your job requires you to travel from one site to another. However, you cannot deduct miles if your employer reimburses you for your mileage. Q: I live in my sister's house. She filed as head of household and got a large tax refund. I'm single with no kids. Can I file as head of household too?

A: No. In order to file as head of household, you must have dependents living in your home and must have paid for more than half the cost to maintain the home for at least six months of the tax year. Q: I worked for only two months and earned $1,200. Do I need to file a tax return?

A: Yes. All wages that you earn must be reported and filed.

If a parenting plan or court order has been issued, refer to it for instructions on who may claim the child as a dependent during the tax year. Q: I recently had a baby and I don’t have her Social Security number yet. Can I still claim my child as a dependent and get an exemption?

A: Not until you have a Social Security number. You may claim your child once you have a Social Security number and receive a full exemption. If you don't have a Social Security number by the filing deadline, then you can file without your child listed. Once you receive the Social Security number, you can file an amended return and receive the full exemption. Q: Can I use my child support income to get an Earned Income Credit on my tax return?

A: No. Child support is not considered earned income.

Q: What is an ITIN?

A: An Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) is a tax processing number issued by the Internal Revenue Service. It’s a nine-digit number that always begins with the number 9 and has a 7 or 8 in the fourth digit (for example, 9XX-7X-XXXX).

The IRS issues ITINs to individuals who are required to have a U.S. taxpayer identification number, but who do not have and are not eligible to obtain a Social Security number. ITINs are issued regardless of immigration status because both resident and nonresident aliens may have U.S. tax return and payment responsibilities under the IRS Code.
